Leuko Kochili belongs to the five-star Mount Athos Resort in Ierissos. The hotel building and the separate bungalows sit between greenery and sea, and the tavern is right at the water's edge. You can drop in for a couple of hours or build a whole summer holiday around it.
On the seashore
The tavern faces the Aegean directly, so the view is the sea itself. Across the bay, the mountains close the horizon.
Surrounded by nature
Behind and beside it is green, mostly untouched land, which means little noise and little light at night. Inside, the comfort is modern. The setting is natural, the service is not rustic.
The interior
The design is simple: white and sky blue, the colours of Greece, on a base of classic wood, with a handful of small details. It is meant to stay out of the way. The room is the background, and the picture is you, your company and the view.
The food
We cook with traditional local ingredients and let the chef add a modern touch to familiar flavours. On the menu you will find:
- fresh fish and seafood from the daily catch of local fishermen we work with
- fresh salads with Halkidiki vegetables, caper leaves and olives
- traditional Greek starters, made in house
- pasta and risotto with local ingredients
- main courses with a contemporary finish
- side dishes, simple and well made
- traditional Greek desserts
The idea behind the menu is simple: good ingredients, not too much done to them.
The wine list
It would be a shame to eat here without trying local wine. The list runs to dozens of reds, whites, rosés, dessert wines, sparkling wines and champagnes, mostly Greek with a few bottles from other famous regions. If you are unsure, ask the staff for a pairing.
Music and evenings
There is Greek music in the background, occasional live performances and an evening programme. It is relaxed, and it gives the place the atmosphere you would hope for in Greece.
